Common House solar panels

In May 2024, this activity, putting 81 photovoltaic panels on the roof of the Common House and two DC-to-AC inverters in the basement was completed.

And, on May 30, 2024, the Common House solar panels were connected to the electrical grid and started producing electricity.

In what should be our good production months, March through October, we use it to power the CH, our path lights, and the slow charging of our electric vehicles, and save the credits earned by our surpluses to tide us over the other months.

So why should we be jumpin’ up n’ down happy about this?

1, It is good for the planet – Clean energy is a plus, especially since we are the ones that consume it.

2. We do not have to pay our local electric utility ever again, that is, we save money.

Special thanks go to one of our members, Sue Donaldson, for her enthusiastic and persistent work over the last several years in making us realize that the project could be done and then getting the doing going.
