Dear friends,
August brought even more abundance to VHC, with incredible garden veggies and plenty of visitors–both human and nonhuman. Community meals made delicious use of the kale, tomatoes, watermelon, and herbs, from our Big Bear and Little Bear garden plots.
Our focus on native plants for landscaping also invited an abundance of pollinators, including monarch butterflies, along with an impressive array of birds. One VHC household that has been tracking bird calls with a microphone and detection system (there are several!), has recorded 114 different species since January–from birds of prey to water birds like our beautiful Great Blue Heron!
Come on by for a meal, tour, or work day! Just email info@villagehillcohousing.org to RSVP first. If you’ll be coming to a meal, we ask that you RSVP at least 3 days in advance (meals cost $5-$12 per person).
